I am feeling very guilty about my knee-jerk reaction to your recent excellent posts with prayers for various needs. I found myself thinking, I am not going to look at that prayer, because I am not ready to ask God for that favor right now – chastity, resignation to the will of God etc. That is the value of an old fashioned or on-line compendium of Catholic prayers, it reminds us of what we should be praying for, and gets us off the wrong track of praying to forward our own agendas.

🙂 These are actually liturgical prayers which I recognize from the breviary and some of which were also selected by the priest at mass (Father sometimes chooses not to follow the optional memorials).
