A dilemma

My parents and one set of grandparents are non practicing. However my practicing grandparents are out since Grandma is recovering from surgery.

The dilemma is that those who are Catholic in the non practicing camp take the Body and Blood of our Lord Jesus every time at Communion. They don’t go to Mass every weekend, reject that we need Confession, reject certain other Church teachings, etc. But this is not to bash my loving family.

Should I sacrifice the opportunity to go to Mass to help their souls?

How would your missing mass help them? Sounds like a way to join them in there sin.

Please explain how this would be. How does what you do keep them from sacrilege?

Be the best Catholic you can in their presence and let the Holy Spirit work on their hearts.
You can’t heal the world, that only comes from Christ Himself.
Give Him a chance.

Ok. It’s just that without me, they don’t go to Mass. I thought that would stop the sacrilege.

And without me that guy I just gave $2 to wouldn’t be able to get his hooch before noon. His problem. Not mine.

Their problem. Not yours.

And besides. Jesus is the forgiving sort. He’ll see that they’re making a sacrifice in bringing you to Mass when normally they wouldn’t bother. He’ll see their motivations are good. He’ll figure out a way to talk to them. Maybe through one of the future homilies they’ll be around to hear thanks to you. So don’t worry.

After all. Staying home they were committing the same level of wrong. So you’re not really winning here in pushing for that.
