A family (and other families) "underwater"

When my son and I were visiting a property (read: house hunting) yesterday, our locality was in the process of cutting the power. I asked the gentleman if he had just turned off the electricity, and he said yes, and gave the reason. Then he asked if I was the owner, and I said, no, I was considering buying the property.

The family is Christian with many external indicators of such. When our realtor arrived, I told her she needed to get in touch with someone regarding the power cut. She texted the owner’s realtor.

Please pray for this family and other families who are “underwater”, especially Christians. My very soul hurts for these folks. They believe in Our Lord, but show such a great lack of prudence. (Sorry for the judgment). An additional prayer for my family as we consider this particular property, which seems to not only fit our needs, but the physical land layout is almost identical to what hubby grew up with.

Lord please bring about good outcomes for struggling individuals and families
 
Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

For Help in Trials

Most holy apostle St. Jude, faithful servant and friend of Jesus, the name of the traitor who delivered your beloved Master into the hands of His enemies has caused you to be forgotten by many. But the Church honors and invokes you universally as the patron of hopeless cases–of things despaired of. Pray for me who feels so hopeless. Make use, I implore you, of that particular privilege accorded to you of bringing visible and speedy help where help is almost despaired of. Come to my assistance in this great need, that I may receive the consolations and succor of heaven in all my necessities, tribulations and sufferings, in particular (Families who are underwater), and that I may bless God with you and all the elect throughout eternity. I promise you, O Blessed St. Jude, to be ever mindful of this great favor, and I will never cease to honor you as my special and powerful patron, and to do all in my power to encourage devotion to you. Amen.

Dear Lord,
Help them find firm ground in this shaky economy. As they seek work and assistance, give them strength not to be anxious when they seem to be going nowhere; give them patience not to despair when things look bleak; give them serenity to know you are here with them, helping them to carry their crosses each day; so that they may do Your will, for the salvation of souls and their Eternal Lives.

Our new home won’t be this one. Hubby has prognosticated that, after reading the economic news, a recession worse than 2008-2012 will drop property prices. We’ll have to see what happens.
