Why is it always the Jews suffer so much in the world and nobody else? Shall I count the numerous Christians who died for defending their faith, became martyred for the faith? Christians were thrown to the lions on just one occasion in history, they are being killed TODAY all over the world!!
Just a few weeks ago, priests from Turkey and Iraq were murdered. So don’t tell me about the Jews who were persecuted over the centuries. It is wrong and a horrible thing but others suffered just as much if not more. I feel for everyone.

In a week, we will be going on a walk to raise money for a memorial for Armenian Christians who were slaughtered (because they were Christians) by the Turks right before and during World War One.

My children and I have been involved in the campaign to bring publicity to the genocide being committed against Christians in the Sudan.

I’ve been involved with groups that you probably don’t even know of, such as mindszenty.org

and persecutedchurch.org

You don’t have to belong to a religion to believe, as I do, that ALL people have the right to worship God as they see fit.

My but you are a busy bee. That doesn’t mean you’ll get into heaven because you uphold other’s ‘religions’. You must believe in Christ if therefore you see Christ in all things. Start with that first before you do anything else. To not believe is a sin.

I don’t think he hates us, I just think he hates the fact that we just don’t do what we’re told and that we’re very, very naughty indeed by being so ‘in his face’ about it.

Just be thankful (as I am) that we live in modern countries (in my case, the USA) where crusades and inquisitions are a thing of the past. People like that in our countries now, can go no further than to be a bag of hot air.

But in older times, they were able to carry out their wishes forcibly. Just be thankful that is no longer the case, at least in the USA!

This is the primary problem I have with Christianity (ALL forms, not just yours): the attitude that ONLY their way is “right”.

I believe Judaism is right for me and for all Jews, but I would never even think to tell a nonJew that their religion is wrong for them.

For me, its not about “trying to get into heaven”. That’s the Christian outlook. I wonder, would Christians still do any good deeds if they felt it did NOT get them anything?

In Judaism, we do good BECAUSE ITS THE RIGHT THING TO DO, and not to earn brownie points with God. We don’t feed the homeless, or help the oppressed, or show solidarity with persecuted peoples, because we think we are scoring points with God somehow (although I’m sure He is glad we’re doing them!)

We do it because it is RIGHT TO DO.

I think the more rightwing Catholics can be rather touchy about the Nazi genocide of the Jews…perhaps because so many Catholics actually aided Nazi war criminals escape, such as over the Brenner Pass.

I always found that reprehensible, not only because they helped killers of Jews escape justice, but also because they helped killers of Catholics escape justice as well.

It is well known (or should be) that the Nazis killed religious Catholics as well as Jews (for example, the Polish nuns of the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth; Fr Maximilian Kolbe, and many others.)

The Holocaust was a terrible horrible thing that I cannot fathom because I didn’t live that era. It is extremely painful to have seen the suffering I’ve seen about the documentaries about Hitler. He should of been assasinated for this atrocious time in history. So I don’t think it is a “little” thing you are obsessed with, and Jews that have survived it have my sympathy. So, don’t put me in that category with other Christians. It is history, just like Christians that were killed. We cannot do anything about it, maybe people are sick and tired of hearing about the Holocaust. Some Jews and I know quite a few feel society “owes” them for this horrendous holocaust and merely cannot move on. It is not the people of today’s fault that this happened. I’m sorry it happened but I am thankful for the pope who saved 860,000 Jews that fled.
