Hey:
There was a great thread a while back that had the address of the prison ministry in the Archdiocese of Galveston/Houston and mentioned that they accepted old copies of Magnificat.
Where to send old copies of Magnificat
I sent a copy of the September issue of Magnificat to them and today, I got a beautiful postcard thanking me for sending it. The inmates there find them really helpful. It seems like it is a good tool for evangelization, as it is chock-full of Scripture, information about the Saints, articles, etc.
Here’s the address:
Archdiocese of Galveston / Houston
Office of Correctional Ministries
2403 Holcombe Blvd.
Houston, Texas, 77021
Also, try asking at your parish/the office of your local diocese to see if they know of other places to send old copies of Magnificat or other good Catholic reading material. It would be cool to get a list going so that people Googling/searching the forums can easily find it.
We should also remember to pray for the men and women in jail/prison - that they may experience conversion in their heart and change their lives for the better.
