Anything. A rosary, a Bible, a book, a prayer card, one of those small statues of her patron saint or the Virgin Mother or the Sacred Heart of Jesus, bracelet or necklace that you’ve made by stringing beads, a poem you’ve written, even just a very nice note.
My daughter made her First Holy Communion last Saturday, and she was completely ignored by everybody in the family except her godmother and my husband’s parents (who bought her a book for teenagers that she can read SOMEday…). Just to have her special day acknowledged with a card would have been awesome.
