I need some info on alternative religions, please.

I have a “friend” who has been expressing some very frightening beliefs lately. This young man was brought up in a Catholic home and attended Catholic schools. But in college and since, he has stumbled upon other beliefs. He has said, “I am a disciple of Yahushua Ha Mashiach…not Iesus Christos…the man made counterfeit that has no etomylogical connection or meaning of Yahushua’s name… Yah is salvation…Yah saves!" His new church believes people should worship on the “true Sabbath” determined by the Moon (not the Gregorian or Hebrew calendars and only accepts the King James version of the Bible.

He says they are “a group of nondenominational followers of Yahushua who are dedicated to spreading the awesome news that the second coming of Yahushua is only a few years away according to Bible prophecy.”

He has been reading and promoting books by Michael Hoggard who is the pastor of Bethel Church in Festus, Missouri, and is the founder and director of Prophetic Research Ministries. And, he offered this website as the basis for his beliefs worldslastchance.com/

He has been calling his practices “The Way” – but was offended when I asked if that was in deference to the early Christians. Has anyone heard of this movement? It seems they spend an inordinate amount of time bashing Catholicism and trying to get back to how the Jews would have worshiped at the time of Christ. I’d appreciate any info. Thanks!

Ask your friend to give you a call when the Yahushua’s second coming happens.

Ask your friend why Jesus contradicted the Mosaic law so often and if we should stone every teenage girl at her father’s doorstep who “has relations with a man” as the Mosaic law would demand?

From Jesus’ own words in Mark 13

135 Jesus said to them: “Watch out that no one deceives you. 6 Many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am he,’ and will deceive many. 7 When you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. 8 Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be earthquakes in various places, and famines. These are the beginning of birth pains.

22 For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. 23 So be on your guard; I have told you everything ahead of time.

The Day and Hour Unknown
32 “**But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.**33 Be on guard! Be alert[e](http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Mark+13&version=NIV#fen-NIV-24751e)]! You do not know when that time will come."

Oh boy! Smells like another off-the-wall cult. Does Jim Jones and David Koresh ring a bell? :whacky:

It is difficult to get any information. Reading their site it appears they are an offshoot of the 7th day Adventist and deny the Trinity.

Thank you all for your responses.
I have been assuming he’s been taken by a cult. He and his wife have 7 little ones at home so he likes the idea of “home church” and also talks about shabbot services.

The crazy thing is that his cult/denomination/group claims Christianity didn’t begin until the end of the 3rd century! So he says they are practicing the faith that was around before Catholicism in the 3rd century. He talks in so many circles that it makes me dizzy! he really doesn’t get that it was Jesus who founded The Church.

Please pray for him. Thanks!

Any religion which claims to know the date and/or time of the end of the world is a cult and false. May God put an end to these heresies.

This is part and parcel of Protestant thought. The idea is that the Church was pure up until that time. Constantine became Catholic and then the Church started becoming pagan, worldly and was not the Christianity of the first 300 years. This is the twisted history of Protestants.

Yes the Bible does tell us when Jesus is coming. Right after the verse where Jesus himself says no one will know the day.

Have they really learned nothing from the other “prophecies” that have been made about the second coming in the past?

It amazes me that people continually fall for these so called prophecies when time always proves that they are not true.
