Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Having just read this article on the soon to be published book by Cardinal Sarah with Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI, I was reminded of how holy a priest St. Louis De Montfort was. When I first read about his life, I was blessed by his fervent love for God and his uncompromising desire to serve Him with his whole heart! Each time I read his work, I continue to be blessed.

In reading the article I’ve already linked in my first sentence of this thread, I also remembered De Montfot’s motto “God Alone”. When I read St. Louis de Montfort’s treatise on “True Devotion to the Blessed Virgin” I realized how his fervor influenced so many people in his own time and for centuries, he has continued to inspire others by the Fire of Love poured into him by the Holy Spirit, through the intercession of Mary.

Yesterday I began a thread on the influence St. Louis de Montfort’s book had on the layman, Servant of God Frank Duff, who founded the Legion of Mary. The influence of a Holy Priest is intended to help the laity to know, love and serve the Lord in holiness as well. I believe Cardinal Sarah and Pope Benedict by writing their new book will help Clergy and Laity alike. It is entitled:
From the Depths of Our Hearts

If you read the article linked at the top of this post, I think you will understand more. Let us continue to pray for one another, the Church, and for all in most need of God’s Mercy.

Dear Maria Christi,

The book “From the Depths of our Hearts” is on my list to get.

The Church needs lots of prayer and sacrifices!

Peace,

Dorothy

I am a big fan of cardinal Sarah. I don’t believe celibacy should be relaxed. I am discerning Priesthood and fully accept that I will be celibate the rest of my life, and know that if its Gods grace I am ordained to the priesthood I will be given this to serve fully

Thanks Dorothy,

For your “heart”, to let us know you liked what you read, and also for your reply. I couldn’t agree with you more: the Church needs lots of prayer (with attention and devotion) and sacrifices offered in union with the Sufferings of Christ. Little things done with Great Love are more powerful than we may think think. My husband and I are ordering the book, “From the Depths of our Hearts” too! 🙂

Thanks, Cham for your “heart” and your reply also. My husband and I read Cardinal Sarah’s last two books and were blessed by them. This one adds the words of Pope Emeritus, Benedict XVI and I’ve read many of his works also and always been inspired by him as well. He explains the most profound truths in such a beautifully simple way!

May the Holy Spirit continue to guide you in your discerning of Priesthood, and may our Lady, Queen of the Clergy watch over you and all those who are seeking to be Holy Priests!

Dear Fauken,

Thanks for your “heart” as well! It is important to me that even one person reads a thread I post to honor Jesus through Mary, and “likes” to hear the Truth God provides through words of His Saints, such as St. Louis de Montfort.

I firmly believe the Church needs Mary as both Mother and Model, and needs to learn from Saints who received from the Holy Spirit, His gifts of Wisdom, Knowledge and Counsel in particular to be able to “teach and to preach” God’s “Good News”.

I hope you will read St. Louis de Montfort’s treatise on “True Devotion to the Blessed Virgin.” the online version can be found HERE. I pray many will begin to read and even re-read this little book, even if they have read it before and were not impressed by it.

God is patient, and often we do not hear Him – but if we continue prayerfully listening and asking the help of His Holy Spirit and the intercession of Mary – I believe with all my heart in God’s Faithfulness – He answers those who pray with Faith – believing, trusting, and loving Him!
