Greetings, I’m looking to read through some of Kierkegaard’s major works this Fall. I’m an accounting student who is studying to sit for the CPA, and I have to have some abstract thinking to compliment my labors in accounting. I have been attracted to Kierkegaard for a while, and I’m not a new student to philosophy, so I thought about actually reading through his works. My problem is laying out a logical progression; I’m obliquely aware of his thought in terms of anxiety and dread leading to knowledge of our dependence on God. I’m thinking of starting with either Fear and Trembling or Philosophical Fragments - I’m not well-read in existentialism. Then I was planning to move to The Concept of Anxiety, followed by The Sickness Unto Death, and finally Practice in Christianity. I realize that I’m missing two rather important texts: Either/Or and Concluding Unscientific Postscript…, but if I may be blunt, I’m trying to avoid reading really long works. If someone here feels that these works are vital to an appreciation of Kierkegaard, then I have no problem reading them, as what I’ve read of his work has struck me as deeply profound. I will finish up this post by asking for suggestions and thank you in advance for any advice.

In Christ,

Matthew Wade

P.S. - I don’t speak Danish, so please recommend a particular translation if possible!
