Someone at my office is starting a monthly prayer breakfast based on the “A Life Worth Living” series by Alpha. It was described by the organizer as a non-demonination and based on the book of Philipians.

Has anyone had any experience with this? Is it contrary to Catholic teaching? Even if some aspects are contrary to Catholic teaching in some respect, does it still have value in other areas?

I am not worried by falling into error if the series teaching some specific point contrary to catholic teaching. However, I don’t won’t to waste my time if teaches all or mostly error.

It’s wonderful. I found absolutely nothing that was anti-Catholic, and I think it would be nice to join that group. However, please note that it is NOT specifically Catholic, either.
I enjoyed the book because Nicky Gumbel is a favorite of mine.
