Yes - I guess what I meant was, since this is in the Eastern Catholicism thread, are there Benedictine Monasteries that are not in the Roman (i.e. Western) tradition?
I wouldn’t know the answer only knowing of own local monestary. Sorry can’t help.

is this the Community you visited ? mirfieldcommunity.org.uk/about/meetthecommunity

I don’t think they are Anglican Benedictines but I’ll agree they are Anglican

You may find more information about Anglican Benedictines here osb.org/intl/angl/index.html

or here en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Order_of_St.Benedict(Anglican)

**however none of these are relevant to this thread - which was asking about Catholicism and Orthodoxy **, not the Anglican Church.

The OP asked further
Are there any other traditional Rites besides “Roman” that observe celebicy for priests,** that are in communion with Rome**?
Note the words " That are in communion with Rome" Anglican Benedictines are NOT and I fail to see why the topic was even mentioned

Yes it is, I checked the link and recognised the various Brothers. It isn’t very far from where I live.

It got brought up as a suggestion for the opening post to think about in his request of going to church where the priest is Celebate and of course monestaries they are celebate and by typing in Benedictine Monestaries into search he may well find one near him. That is the only reason I happend to mention it in the first place. Sorry.

I am a practicing Roman Catholic, though I have been drawn for quite some time to, for lack of a better description, a “more tradition” mass, and practice of my faith. I have been researching as much as possible on the different types of Catholicism, and Orthodox deliniations…

My main question is this.…I can easily accept everything I have learned thus far, and I think I have a basic understanding on why the bigsplit happened long ago. My issue is this. I am completely stuck on priests being able to be married. This is very difficult for me. **Arent there some “more traditional catholics” that believe in celebecy for thier priests besides "Roman Catholics? **
Thanks to everyone who is participating in this thread.

I should probably make myself more clear, and avoid anything extraneous.

You have been clear in both of your posts. Perhaps if you post in a section such as “Traditional Catholicism” you might get more helpful responses.

The tradition in the Orthodox and Eastern Catholic churches is for our parish priests to be married (white clergy) and for our monastics to be celibate (black clergy).

“The focus of this forum is to provide a community for Eastern Catholics and to help Latin Catholics better appreciate the Church’s Eastern heritage.”

If there are other topics about your present struggle which would relate to the Eastern Church’s “history, spirituality, and practices” people here are very happy to respond to those in hopefully helpful ways. You have brought up other very important topics in your post. If you want to focus on those I’m sure you could gets additional suggestions about those issues.

My humble prayers are with you and your family as you struggle with the frustrations you feel presently.
