This is about as far as I’ve seen any Muslim get in questioning their belief, or thinking critically about it, really… Islam must be true simply because the Muslim CHOOSES for it to be true.

Therefore, anything that disagrees with Islam MUST be false. It’s all built upon one giant assumption.

I’m curious why you seem so sure that your interpretation of the Quran must be correct, while the majority of Muslims disagree with you. It’s not even just that… but why would the hadiths and the need for Islamic “scholars” even surface in the first place if the Quran were as self-sufficient as you think it to be?

i do not mean to sound presumptive but if you are looking for quran verses i do not think you understood my point… the quran is very contradictory, and even more contradictory with the hadiths and laws of islam. without an authoritative arbiter thousands of interpretations can simultaneously be “correct” because muslims on an individual basis believe them to be so. this is unlike the Church which has a definite “official position” on everything… detracting from that would make you not a catholic.

comparing the two does not make any sense, they are not comprised in the same manner… the quran might tell you that everything is clear, but if you look at the world of islam it is just not true. we are comparing the things as they are…

I have read that when peace is meant it is referring to a personal bliss like state. When one knows God is in control and we trust him we can have bliss in our lives despite troubles.

You have to admit that there is some deliberate deception going on - people claim that the word “Islam” actually is the Arabic for peace. That claim has certainly been made to me. This is demonstrably wrong. Submission has two meanings in the English language - submission forced on someone, and voluntary submission.
Look at Inzamam ul-Haq at the World Cup attributing the team’s bad performance to kismet and Allah. Is that submission or fatalism? I would suggest the latter.

Those evil terrorists are muslims and motivated by the quran and islam. Given the history of islam that is not suprising. Islam has a long history of attacking Christians. This is not some generic terrorists problem. It is an islamic terrorism problem.
