A new attempt to break the Seal of Confession is now afoot. Won’t you take a minute to protest? Click here to send your comments to New Hampshire representatives of the Children and Family Law Committee. They are considering HB1127.

Another report on pro-life events. We hear from Marc Lascelle in El Paso. Click here for more.

Three years ago we protested against attempts to break the sacred Seal of Confession, now legislators in New Hampshire are trying again.

In the name of “protecting the children,” they want to make priest report on what is said inside the confessional. There is absolutely no proof that this will protect the children. But it will destroy the sacrament of Penance.

Think about it. All a person would have to do to incriminate a priest is say he reported an abuse in confession. The priest is defenseless since the Seal of Confession requires that he cannot say anything about what happened in the confessional even to defend himself or his reputation. (Click here to protest)

The State would force priests to incur the penalty of excommunication. It would force the Faithful to make sacrilegious confessions since the penitent cannot omit any sin for the absolution to be valid. It would shake all confidence in the sacrament since we cannot be sure what would be reported.

The State has no business in the confessional. I urge you to protest now. This is a matter for all Catholics not just those in New Hampshire. It will open a dangerous precedent. Act now. Click here to protest.

Last week we reported on the March for Life in Washington. That was not the only pro-life event. All across the country there were marches and rallies. One of our members in El Paso sent in a report. Click here for more.

Until next time, I remain,

Yours in Christ,

P.S. Please keep the Seal of Confession intact. Protest here. Let us keep the government out the confessional.
