This thread is truly depressing. This is exactly why we need laws against abortion in the U.S. To protect those innocent unborn children from the gross selfishness/ignorance of their mothers. And those that are pro-abortion ought to talk to some women who’s lives have been made miserable by a decision they made that they thought was going to make their lives “easier” and “happier”.

It’s kind of funny, but I cannot comprehend how someone can think abortion is acceptable, and yet I used to think the same thing. Only now that I know better, I just can’t imagine WHAT I could have been thinking!

Liberialsaved,

What is your purpose on this forum? Are you here for the fun of debate?

People in this forum are a part of something bigger than themselves. I will pray for you.
If I were here for the fun of debate, I would start a few threads. However, this is a public forum and not limited to one point of view being expressed. Therefore, I have a right to express one contrary. You say people on this forum are part of something bigger, but many of you only respect something bigger if it is a certain something bigger. The Muslims and Atheists and others are given voice here as well as us, or there would not be catagories for them. My feeling as a result was that this was a religious forum, one of the few, where I would not be banned for disagreeing with strict church line on everything.

This is a thread on a CATHOLIC Board. The Teaching of the Catholic Church is taken as proven by the sponsors of the board and gy most of the members. If you don’t like that, there are Secular Boards, such as Democratic Underground, where most of the people will agree with you, where most of us aren’t allowed to express our opinions as you’ve been allowed to do here.

You are making some mistaken assumptions about me. I am Catholic. You can call me CINO, CAFCATH, Liberal, whatever. Fact is, you don’t know what I beleive.

So, after today I am no longer to express opinions that are contrary or perceived as contrary to orthodox Catholicism as defined by YOU and those that think like YOU? Have you just granted me some special dispensation to express my onpion this ONE time?

As other poster have pointed out, there are SCIENTIFIC arguments for the humanity of the baby in the uterus. As several of us have illustrated, there are NON-Religious PHILOSOPHICAL arguments for the humanity of the baby in the uterus. And, with the exception of the reasoning around Roe v. Wade, there are legal arguments for accepting the humanity of the baby in the uterus, because you can’t disprove it, at least not without disproving the humanity of people we generally acknowledge to be human.

You can claim that you absolutely must prove the baby in the uterus to be human beyond all doubt before you will accept it as human. But, As one poster pointed out, if you took that attitude about firing into a bush because you thought there were birds and not a human being there, you could still be liable for MANSLAUGHTER.

I’m pretty sure that NO WHERE on this site have I definitively expressed my positon on abortion. YOU are mistakenly lumping me into a group I never claimed to belong to. Remember what they say about making assumptions.

In Christ, Michael
Read a little more carefully. Many object when they are accused of making statements they have never made. I think that’s one of the commandments isn’t it? Thou shalt not bear FALSE WITTNESS.

Anyway, that topic is off topic, and I don’t care to debate topics that parents observe whenever they hand their kids a bag of Twinkies or whenever their kids dig into their Halloween “take”.

I was just trying to say that I didn’t see any connection between that and the widespread use of Artificial Contraceptives, and I can’t see why why you would have any disagreement with that or why you would decide to post a disagreement to a post expressing something just about every parent here has seen.

If you wat a debate on the merits of sugar, PM Brother John and see if he’ll set up a thread for that, or set one up yourself, but that’s off topic here.

In Christ, Michael
Huh? You have been reading THIS post from the beginning haven’t you? Off Topic?

Go back and read post #13.
My point is if more children come out of sugar free homes they will not use the pill.

John
And this one
Some kids are unwittinly given the example of sugar or other addictions at home. Self control needs to come from Dad and Mom’s example first. I wish I could have done better don’t make the same mistakes I did.

The young without self control become easier prey to sex, drug and porn pushers and sex abusers.

Free the children from sugar addiction.

Brother John
And please clarify for us how you can indict me for discussing the sugar topic but disregard that these others have also discussed it IN THIS THREAD.
