Pray.Peace be with you all,
Yep, I’ve got Eastern Orthodox friends that have fallen for this kind of thing. What are we to do?
Peace.
The Ordo Templi Orientis is based on the Law of Thelema, which is an invention of Aleister Crowley. It is a gnostic corruption of Catholicism and Egyptian pantheism.Wasn’t Aliester Crowley into the occult. I seem to recall a story about him summoning up Satan at some point in his life, only to be driven crazy by the experience.
I may be wrong or my information was wrong, that story just comes to mind.

My suggestion would be to find some written material on Aleister Crowley and show it to your friend. I’ve read that his own mother called him “The Beast”, and he became the most infamous occultist of his era. He was a member of a satanic cult called Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn. He was a user of drugs and practitioner of sexual magic.Peace be with you all,
Like I stated earlier, I have one particular friend who was very interested in this stuff (Golden Dawn, etc) and was lead astray from Eastern Orthodoxy. Can anyone offer me advice as to how one could refute some of this stuff, where to start and how one would build a case against it?
I’m kinda ole school Baptist turn Catholic RCIA type and frankly don’t have the occult knowledge to refute this kind of stuff.
Peace, Love and Blessings.
