If you look carefully at the post in which I quote the Catechism, you will note that the first quote also makes reference to Eastern Catholic Churches, as well, and the difference. However, as the OP has not indicated she belongs to an Eastern Catholic Church, that part is moot.**Gotta disagree a little with this. It is, in fact, the couple that “bestows” the sacrament on each other:
From the Catechism of the Catholic Church:**
**Noit in the Eastern Catholic Churches.
And it’s still the Church’s wedding service.**
No one is arguing that there is a form to be followed which is dictated by the Church.
P.S. I well understand the “crowning” of the couple, as it happened at my wedding to my Ruthenian Catholic husband. But, there is no point in confusing the OP.
