A powerful prayer for our times!

I have recently started praying the Chaplet of the Holy Face of Jesus and I love the prayers from it. One of the prayers in particular for me is so powerful the first time I said it I felt overwhelmed and still do when I say it. It is really fitting for these times we live in.

“Arise, O Lord, and let Thy enemies be scattered, and let those that hate Thee flee before Thy face!”

Saint Athanasius stated that the devil’s feared this verse from scripture the most and it causes them to take flight!

I wanted to share it because I get increasingly sick of God being mocked and attacked and His church.

That’s a nice devotion. I believe it is a favorite of Cardinal Burke.

Fr. Heilman (of Roman Catholic Man website) led a 54-day novena of it last year, which a lot of people joined.

I thought the name of Mary and Jesus were the most frightening to the devils.

Yes of course. I think it’s meant that it is one of the most feared verses.

You can also say the chaplet on your rosary by just skipping four beads out of every decade so you do sets of 6 rather than sets of 10. At the end when you’re supposed to look at a picture of Jesus’ face for the last prayer, you can look at a holy card or a picture on the Internet, or just close your eyes and picture His face.
