I set up a time to have my confession heard today, two days after my grandmother died, wanting to be able to pray for her. I planned on going alone, since I usually do (this was just before Mass), but my mom and sisters came with me so we could go shopping afterwards. Once we pulled into the parking lot, my mom expressed her desire to go to confession as well. I’ve been trying to get her to go for years, and this is the first time she’s gone in over a decade.

I have a lot of work to do to try and help her onto the right track after this (and keep from having to press her to go again), but after such a horrible week, this offered me a huge relief. 🙂

How blessed you are for first of all wanting to go to confession and for praying for your grandmother. Sadly today most young people don’t pray for their deceased family members.
I can imagine your elation having your mom go to confession.
Keep up your prayers, as you have witnessed, Jesus knows the desires of your heart and definitely answers your prayers.

Sorry for your loss. I am however, glad for you that your mom wanted to go to confession and you too. It’s wonderful when family embrace God, especially when it’s been your desire for years, God bless you. I’m glad you had some relief from this, a gift from God no doubt.
