Having read so much about the current state of affairs in the Catholic Church, I have come to a conclusion. I am curious how many, if any, of you agree.

I want this situation with the abuse of power of the Catholic clergy to stop. It has percolated around for a good twenty years now ever since the early 2000s. It is time for it to end.

I remember back in around 2002 when the scandal was at a fever pitch then, the secular/leftist media was stunned that the laity of the Church was not leaving en masse. It baffled them that their pontification about the degenerate nature of the entire Catholic Church hadn’t cause a mass migration of the faithful to whatever they considered the “right” way to think.

I think that spectre is being raised in the coverage of this situation now, and it is being fueled not only by the enemies of the Church, but those within acting in a hysterical manner. So to them I say.

I"M NOT GOING ANYWHERE!

I don’t mean to be showboating, but I’m not hearing much response from the faithful in answer to the slander of the media. I know it is early, and the faithful are waiting to hear from the hierarchy as to their response. I just thought maybe someone should raise the point now.

Anyone with me?

I am with you!
I’M NOT GOING ANYWHERE!

The Catholic Church is the true Church founded by Jesus Christ and will never fail. There have always been very fallible men within the Church and she has with stood the test. While the knowledge of the abuse and the cover up sickens me, my faith remains.

I have known so many good & Holy priests to not believe in the Catholic Church. I have read of too many saints and their virtues to not believe in the Catholic Church. I have been comforted by the Blessed Mother and cannot deny the Catholic Church. I have witnessed miracles and must trust the Catholic Church.

I have received the most holy Eucharist, I can never go back to a time of not having the fullness of Christ with me. I will stay right where I am, with the Catholic Church.

I"M NOT GOING ANYWHERE!
This. Just wait till Cardinal Pell goes on trial. That’s going to be great media fodder.

Hate the sin and not the sinner.

And just say no to all this media shite. Frankly I am surprised why people are not questioning the media coverage, critically, when anything Trump dislike and cries fake news, the people take up the same cry

To whom shall we go?
Exactly!

We went through a very similar situation with Our bishop, Our Curia, Our parishes, and Our priests in the early 2000’s albeit on a smaller scale. Disbelief, disgust, anger and outrage, calls to action.

I looked (then and now) to the words in John 6 spoken by Peter"
Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life; and we have believed, and have come to know, that you are the Holy One of God.”

Why let the devil chase you away from your faith. I mean, do we stop interacting in secular life because of all the crime

Why do you say its the devil chasing people away when all those clergy committed so many crimes for so many years of their own free will?

Kevin, it’s not just the clergy, Laity were also involved. Let’s be crystal clear about that.
Secondly, the devil would love to destroy the church, and tried to through this child rape scandal.

So do people leave their religion, their church, get into mortal sin and stay that way, because they won’t go to Reconcilliation, because priests were raping children in confessionals.

The devil would love that!

Or do people say, hate the sin and not the sinner, and continue practice their faith .

Who are you going to pick? Jesus and His Church h, or the devil

Do you seriously think this isn’t the work of evil, aka the devil.

There is no information in answering a question with a question containing your original assertion.

The Church has taken numerous steps to keep children safe. For example, I’m quite sure the Church conducts more background checks now than anyone except for the federal government.

Do you care to guess how many sexual abuse allegations were made in 2017? 695. Only 24 of which were made by minors. The rest were adults reporting historic crimes. http://www.usccb.org/news/2018/18-089.cfm

My original assertion that this the work of evil? That one?

Sorry if I haven’t been telling off the media. It was a work day and I had to get to Mass and do my Novena for our Nation rosary and prayers. So I’m kinda busy to be dealing with a bunch of incompetent atheist journalists right now.

The assertion that the devil tried to destroy the church through the priest rape scandal. How do you know this?

Public school is a more dangerous place.

The Holy Roman Catholic is a church of sinners and a sinful church, having done in the name of God what was not begotten by God. This came to me in 1953 when I was in the library reading what was written by Karl Rahner. The reality I have come to believe is that God knows everything and the whole world knows only some of that everything and the church does not know the everything that God knows. I remember the 2nd Vatican Council words the Church does not know all the truth but knows enough truth for salvation. The sin that is very significant in the world is the sin of pride. The element of pride has been very present in the Holy Roman Catholic and reflected in the response of bishops, archbishops, cardinals, etc in regard to the sexual abuse scandal in the past 70 years and more. The truth all victims have not been completely and adequately addressed by the church. Church officials apologizing rather than resigning for their sinful acts dealing with victims and guilty priests, bishops, deacons is a telling fact and if not corrected and properly addressed officially by the church will result in whatever will be a continuation of what exists and feeds a continuation of what should be exposed and removed.

I guess you missed all the saints and martyrs.
