Not sure if this is the right place to post. Can I join the Knights of Columbus if I am in RCIA or must I wait until I have been confirmed?

Knights are required to be practicing Catholics. Call your local Council and you can be involved, then, become a member after you come into full Communion!

It is true that the membership requirements are to be a practical Catholic gentleman in union with the Holy See, and not less than 18 years of age. But I do not know that Confirmation is *specifically *required?

I notice you write in the first person of being in RCIA, yet also list your religion as “Catholic” in your profile, and you also specifically ask about the sacrament of Confirmation. This causes me to wonder if perhaps you were baptized and/or eucharized in the Catholic Church as a child, but did not make your Confirmation in the usual course, and are doing so now as an adult?

No need to answer that question out loud, and I am certainly not trying to grill you. But if that does describe your situation, you might approach your local council’s chaplain. If, in good conscience, you and he would both agree that you are Catholic, I would see nothing to prevent your membership.

But regardless – In the meantime, you would be welcome to join and participate in the CAF [group=16]Knights of Columbus[/group] Group. :tiphat:
