This morning I took a double bus to a major Mall. People getting on had to pass a young teenage girl siting at the front by herself. As they got seated, many young people tuned out, and texted. The young woman was in her own world as well, her face serene, her eyes closed, and her rosary beads in her hand. A woman beside me quietly said, “Look she’s praying her Rosary.” I replied “Isn’t that wonderful?” She asked if I was Catholic, I nodded and smiled and she also smiled and replied “Yes, I am, too.” It was one of those moments I felt so blessed, and I thanked my parents, gone now, for the best gift they ever gave me. Just wanted to share this.

I felt quite ashamed that I don’t have the courage to do it myself.

Thanks for sharing that lovely story. That’s a nice example of the kind of “evangelization” I can get behind, especially during this season when so many people are in a harried hurried rush. ❤️

God bless you and the girl too.

I have to sign off. Am headed to a country area to visit my son, and will be attending a little Catholic Church in town over the Holidays. God Bless All, it’s so nice to be able to share our Faith with each other.

I’m practicing to be able to concentrate through this. Yesterday I was stuck at the auto mechanic for several hours and made myself pray a Rosary and Divine Mercy next to the blaring TV.

I was going for a walk at night once, this is something I’ve been doing since I was a teenager, and my sister was on a neighbourhood watch group on Facebook. Now, what I would do is I would pray my rosary right when I went for walks, and someone reported on that group that there was a guy carrying a chain. Yeah, it was me. And when I tried to clear that up, someone just started insulting Catholics. What are you going to do about? For the record, I have prayed the Chaplet of Divine Mercy multiple times when I was in university. College was fun, because whenever I would read the Bible, janitor’s would compliment me and talk to me like they were my friends. I wasn’t doing it for them, I just thought it was kind of cool that they were like that.

You must have a heck of an impressive size and weight rosary.
I got a custom 15 decade made by Cordbands that is all big metal beads. It probably weighs a couple pounds and could knock somebody out if necessary.
I can’t fly with it as they would make me check it.

It’s a chain Rosary, but it’s not very long. I think I gave it to my sister. Now, the one that I have right next to me, is much bigger, and I could see how that could be mistaken for a chain. I didn’t even have that one yet though. I have a rather large wooden one from Italy, but I don’t usually use that one.

Perhaps she was telling you that it is ok to say grace in public, i do.

Her eyes remained closed as she prayed. On our buses a voice and screen announce the next stop, and she was still totally immersed in her Rosary at the point that I got dropped off. It certainly was a profession of Faith.
She was brave to keep her eyes closed, because there are some high questionable people riding buses in my city (or anywhere) these days. Perhaps that’s why she sat right behind the driver. In any case, I’m going to be more open to praying in public, but with eyes open.
