Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them… Matthew 7:20

And what are the fruits of Islam?

Muslims societies in general do not suffer from low birth rates… or high abortion rates depending on how you look at it.

Apart from that, the above verse from the Bible would also apply to the generally low levels in Muslim societies of incidences of alcohol consumption, incest, rape, murder, fornication, violent crimes, juvenile delinquency, homosexuality, suicides, gambling and other social ills as compared to the statistics to be found in the societies of other major faiths, particularly those in the West.

Yes, in this case, what the Bible states is absolutely correct… By their fruits, ye shall know them.
In general, the same “fruits” you claim for Muslim societies can be claimed for prisions, but that doesn’t mean everyone else should be in prison, nor that it is wise to turn your back on the inmates.

Even so, one can not make the claims you make for Muslim societies if those societies are held to western standards, nor if the society in question has to interact with a sizeable non-Muslim population.

So if there is a substantive dispute about the quality of the fruit, does it not make sense to examine for deception?

Oh come off it! Your own prophet committed a lot of those, including pedophilia, not to mention that he made his living by raiding and looting caravans, and had people assassinated simply because they wrote satyric poems about him! Tells lots about his mental stability, doesn’t it?

Forcing people into virtue by intimidation or fear, is not virtue!

A telltale sign that one’s faith is weak is when one spends a lot more time disparaging the “evils” of another faith than the amount of time one spends expounding on the virtues of one’s own faith.

To put it another way, if your hatred or displeasure of another faith is more than the love you have of your own faith, then it very likely means that something is not quite right with your conviction and the commitment you have towards your own faith.

Have a look at the threads and the posts on this message board and you will get a pretty good idea of what I mean.

After all, actions do speak a whole lot louder than words.
Umm, this is a forum for discussing non-Catholic religions, which means that if you’re looking for posters to praise Catholicism, you should do so in another forum dedicated to discussing Christianity.

Umm, this is a thread about Islam so why are you surprised that we’re spending more time here discussing Islam than Christianity?

Umm, why are you equating staying on-topic to having a weak faith?

A sign that one’s faith is weak is when someone has to try to disprove other faiths in order to prove his own.

A sign that one’s faith is weak is when someone cannot accept any criticism of his religion and has to resort to violence to stop it!

Where did I post anything to disprove another faith?

The Qur’an is the timeless miracle which is the ultimate proof that Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) is the Messenger of God.

A distinction can be made between criticism and insult… One is acceptable, the other is certainly not.

There is a foolproof method to test and ascertain the truth of Islam… or any other religion for that matter.

I did not name you did I, but if the shoe fits then wear it. Isn’t that what you Muslims do with every post disparaging Christianity? Well, you won’t be able to do it! By claiming that the Bible is corrupted and that Jesus is not the Son of God, you try to prove Muhammad’s claims, but the fact remains that you have no proof except belief in Muhammad.
The Qur’an is the timeless miracle which is the ultimate proof that Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) is the Messenger of God.
Why do you insist on imposing your will on us! No real Christian will ever strip Jesus of his divinity and all the honor due to him as the Son of God and 2nd person of the Blessed Trinity, to accept a ruthless barbarian as a prophet of God!

I will repeat it again! No book is a miracle. Anyone can write a book and claim that it came from god or whatever. The Quran is a hoax! It’s the word of Muhammad! The “Allah” who speaks in the Quran is Muhammad. Wake up!

A miracle is raising the dead, making the blind see and the deaf hear, walking on water, turning water into wine, rising oneself from the dead as Jesus did, not a book! In other words, things that ordinary people cannot do. Writing a book and claiming that God dictated it through an angel does not fall under that category.

Why do you believe that Muhammad is the Messenger of God? You believe it because Muhammad said he was and that’s enough proof for a Muslim and because he claimed the book he “wrote” came from God. Furthermore that same book “validated” his claims to prophethood. No further proof required. Pure circular reasoning and you cannot see how ridiculous that is.

The Catholic Church investigates so-called miracles and apparitions for years to validate whether they are real or not. Can you see the difference?

The only miracle that I can see about Islam is that a billion people have bought the Big Lie. As even Hitler stated, the bigger the lie, the more people will believe in it.
A distinction can be made between criticism and insult… One is acceptable, the other is certainly not.
Translation, the insult calls for death which proves how insecure Muslims must be about Islam! What is worse, those silly cartoons of Muhammad or having Jesus called a homosexual? We do not kill anyone for that! We protest legally and peacefully. We are not barbarians! Can you say the same for yourselves?

Hillaire Belloc was so right when he said that Muslims were fanatical and bloodthirsty!

As has already been established in the thread you provided a link to, as well as other threads, you’re the only one here who considers this test to be “foolproof”, or to have any merit whatsoever. You’re not going to get anywhere by bringing it up again.

This is the rhetorical question I was referring to:

Why should those who say that they do not believe in what is written in the Qur’an be so concerned about what it says regarding the fate of non-believers in the Hereafter?

Since the answer is just so obvious to me, I did not really expect one.

However, if anyone wishes to elaborate on the answer, then I am all ears… or eyes, I think.

One reason may be, because it is important to have some idea of why those who reject a faith, do so. If we have at least some understanding of religions other than our own, many misunderstandings, & greater evils than these, can be avoided.

As a fifth of the human race is Muslim, & as Islam is spreading, it would be very unwise to be ignorant of it. Especially if one is a Christian.

None of that implies lack of conviction - it is compatible with lack of it, but also with having firm convictions. The same can be said of tolerance - it’s not a popular virtue in some circles, which is one of several good reasons for being tolerant: it’s much better than blind ignorance or failure to discriminate between things of different value. Those who can tolerate no notions other than their own, no criticisms, no differences from their own beliefs, are also weak, in their own way.
