A simple question for all Bible alone believing Christians. If the Catholic Church was not founded upon Peter by Christ in Matthew 16: 18 as you believe, then who established it and when? There had to be a dude from Rome in the middle ages or earlier who decided one day to call himself Pope, and by his own volition(not God’s) declared he had divine authority to bind and loose on earth and in heaven. Who was that rascal? I want his name and the date of his reign…😉

Gregory the Great (reigned 590-604), and he invented purgatory too, so there. :o

At least that’s what Walter Martin used to believe. Now he’s in purgatory himself and met Gregory the Great, so he knows the truth. Just kidding.
