I have a few questions but I want to start off by telling you about my conversation

I had a great conversation last night with a agnostic. I have heard the word many times but really did not know what it was. I looked up the word and it has a couple different meanings and can be compared to atheist. But I did not get that they were atheist. From what I got out of the conversation is that they believe in a higher being but just don’t know what it is. I actually respect that at least it was honest and they know there is reality (I can use a better word here but cant think of it.) But reality is where our conversation just hit off.

He and his girlfriend are photographers and I have to say he is pretty good. He has taken nude pictures of his girlfriend as part of his portfolio and when he first told me this he said its not porn or what ever, but art. I know all about Theology of the body and Pope John Paul taken the clothes of paintings that where covered. But nude pictures being art? Cant playboy say the same? Ill be honest I went to his web site and nude pictures are not all that he has he does weddings ex. And I can tell the intent behind the art it respects the body. I dont know how to put it other than its nowhere the same as a playboy Its something you just know when you see it.

So I explained TOB. The body is not bad the sexual attraction is not bad sex is not bad. But very good God he created us this way… and I explained to his girlfriend if some one was to walk into the bathroom while you was taking a shower you would cover up. Her who has posed nude would do this because she knows she was not created as a object to be violated. And the art class that the woman takes her clothes off for but quickly puts them back on when she notices people peaking in the window because the blinds are open. She knows there intent.

THEY understood this by reason, reality, agnostics! They where really blown away by my little introduction to theology of the body.

Anyway I really feel good because I talk about my faith and apologetics, theology of the body to EVERYBODY. I think I have found someone who listened and walked away from the conversation with a wow. I have not yet converted anybody have always wanted to. But who knows they may have seen the light:newidea:

Sorry for the long story but Im excited. Are there any suggestions? What should I know about agnostics what books should I recommend besides Theology of the body for beginners are there good Catholic/agnostic books out there?

That’s an amazing experience!

When I was an atheist, I read C.S. Lewis’ Mere Christianityand enjoyed it. You could try that for starters. Also, direct them here. This website is an invaluable source.

Try not to be pushy and just pray pray for them!

I’m sure God is delighted that you worked so thoughtfully to draw these folks understanding and hearts to Him!

:bible1: I ask the Holy Spirit to be with you to guide your thoughts and words always.
I ask His blessings and inspirations for you and your friends. Through God’s grace and mercy, souls can be drawn to God by others’ witness…may your witness be always blessed.

Warm regards, Trishie 🙂
