For those of you who know about the film “Into Great Silence” about the Carthusians at La Grande Chartreuse, there’s a poignant interview with a blind monk at the end of the film where he says that God made him blind to help draw the monk closer to Him. He says it was a grace from God to become blind.

This is very old. She wrote a book about it called My Stroke of Insight. It’s a great book and I highly recommend it. It’s very inspirational.
