So, for anybody out there that didn’t watch this, let me give you a brief synopsis.

The special wasn’t disappointing. It was what you would expect: a lot of fluff and jumping around without getting to the heart of the matter. As a whole, ABC was fair, and you even got the feeling that the reporter, Elizabeth Vargas, believed in the literal ressurection of Christ. We got the usual Jesus Seminar people on there. Spong and Father McBrien were them usual selves. Father McBrien makes you just want to scream “Heretic, get out of my Church”. They spewed their regular garbage about how after the resurrection, whenever people saw Jesus it was a vision and nothing more. As proof for this view they stated that Jesus “appeared” to people and this word usage proves this. :tsktsk: I would like to meet these people and have my foot appear to their a**. Then we will see if they think it is literal or just a vision. (of course I would wait for Fr McBrien to be excused from the priesthood before my foot would appear to him.)

I felt that Father O’Conner was the best on there. :yup: I have seen him before. He is an expert on the archeology that goes on in the Holy Land and is quite the expert. :clapping: He was very orthodox and was the most knowledgeable of all the pro-ressurection people on the show.

I quit watching after the man from Talbott University kept talking about Jesus’s brothers, and Elizabeth Vargas (raised a Catholic…don’t know if she still is…) never questioned that ‘opinion’ as not being held by all Christians. It was presented as simple and obvious fact that Jesus had brothers and even THEY did not recognize him…especially James.

Liz should stay home and be wife to her husband and be a mother to her child instead of running around the world asking the television audience scripted questions with scripted answers. Who is she kidding?

Who is feeding your kid Liz?

I have seen enough of Fr. McBrien. Can any of you believe I have to look at his picture once a month in my diocese newspaper? Yep, he has a column of his very own.
