Christalone,

What if she has repented or does repent before death?
How often do you see militant, liberal, female clergy who are head-over-heels into abortion rights do a 180 and repent? Hey, man, if she repented tomorrow and admitted that not only is abortion fundamentally, intrinsically evil but also renounced the silliness and folly of herself being a female priestess that is illegitimate and unable to celebrate the sacraments, I’d be the first to cheer her on! I wouldn’t lay down Vegas odds on it, though!

Interesting. I have seen enough threads here on dead priests that were molesting children by droves in multiple parishes they were moved to over and over as having a shot at salvation if they repented before death, but this woman can not possibly even be given odds on repenting before death.

I see tribalism here. Don’t worry, it’s a survival instinct.👍

I agree she’ll need to atone for her positions, but at the same time I wouldn’t call the entire episcopal church at fault for this one, if anything it just shows the need from a central authority, because I’m sure many of our episcopal brethren are shuddering on two different accounts on this particular ordained person.

This Episcopalian has abandoned ship, and is hoping that the waters of the Tiber are not so easily swirled…

Tribalism? Hardly. I catch he%$ in here all the time for arguing against some fellow Catholics. I’m hardly tribal. God, if you only knew me! LOL…Secondly, you don’t have to worry about me being an apologist for pedophile priests. I don’t know what they did in their final days repentence-wise. I hope they did repent. But you bring up an apples and oranges comparison. A person who personally molested a child usually knows darn well it was a sin. Under compulsion and with an evil appetite, these predators prey on children. They usually do regret it and lament it. It’s understandable how they would ask for God’s mercy. But most pro-abortion lesbian activists are not going to personally have an abortion, right? A lesbian who gets pregnant? Maybe an in vitro pregnancy? hmmm. Many liberal folks are pro-choice/pro-abortion and never have an abortion or experience anything close to one. If she herself had had an abortion, I’m sure she’d have more of a personal experience with it to possibly repent. Anyway, a person who is pro-choice to that degree in a liberal denomination with a lesbian lifestyle, yes, could theoretically, repent and turn their life around. I just said I wouldn’t bet on it. Sorry if that gets you in a tizzy. eye roll back at ya

I notice you’re “agnostic.” Boy, lack of commitment to anything. Definitely can’t accuse you of tribalism, Strawberry. But I do admire your commitment to strawberry jam. My personal favorite flavor, too. Well, this tribal leader needs to get going. We have a head-shrinking and some shaman chanting to do at the tribal council meeting tonight. Uga buga!

Take your drum.

The waters can be rough, but we have a big boat, and that’s kept on truckin strong for the last 2 millennium

This thread is merely an avenue to bash. A simple search on this woman in the search bar here reveals this topic has been hashed out to death. No one seems to care or know what this woman’s current standing on the matter is, nor cares to know it.
This is so counterproductive.

StrawberryJam’s soooo right. The proper Episcopalian response, which Catholics should would be to start a “Listening Process” to allow Ms. Ragdale to talk at us about her experiences until we change our minds. And if we don’t, we’ll just continue the listening process until she convinces us that abortion is a blessing. And if that doesn’t work, then we’ll just form an indaba group so that we can all be more inclusive of those who hold that abortion is a blessing. If we would just reconcile with creation, we would be able to just live into the inclusive reality of abortion being a blessing. Also, we should issue an apology for all Christian behavior up and until this new enlightened version we’ve created. And other such talk.

If you’re so concerned about her "current standing on the matter"why don’t you contact her and ask her? That way you can be “productive”.😉

What is her current understanding?

By Hilary WhiteApril 2, 2009 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Katherine Hancock Ragsdale, an openly lesbian minister in the American Episcopal Church, has caused a stir on the internet with a sermon, posted to her weblog, in which she called abortion a “blessing” and called for the suppression of…

Abortion is wrong no matter the reason. I had a 82 year old lady say to me that a girl was rapped and she should have a abortion because it is a devil baby then she asked me my opion. I told her that its not the babys fault, the baby didn’t choose to be brought into this world like that, how can you call any unborn or born child that. Just because the baby was a product of a rape don’t mean that it isn’t one of Gods children, how can you say such a horable thing like that. I don’t believe in abortion for any reason. I then left and never returned to see her again. Doesn’t life mean anything in todays society, when a 82 year old lady accepts it as the norm. Its not the childs fault, that bad judgement made at the time of conception, but it seems that the unborn baby catches the worst part of the whole thing, death, death for something that they had nothing to do with. Thats like finding the person who done wrong, beigh guilty and then having someone put to death in their place because of their mistake. Just don’t seem right. All we can do is pray for God to show mercy and to show her her wrong doings. Also pray for the lives she has condemed to death and the people in her congrigation that they see the wrong in her teachings.
