I am wondering if we could not pass legislation that would significantly fine parents for participating in an abortion. I know the goal of Pro-Life is that abortion become illegal but culture does not seem to be there yet.

Is there a way to legislate fines ($10,000) for adults who choose to abort and do you think this could reduce abortion rates in the short term as we work toward outlawing abortion?

Pretty much what they said. You can’t fine something that’s legal.

You can defund PP/abortion providers so it’s no longer affordable because of taxes. Ultimately that can reduce abortions/no. of clinics.

As others have said, you can’t fine someone for a legal action.
And in light of the recent bills that approach infanticide, abortion won’t be illegal anytime soon.

It’s best for apologists and evangelists to avoid the punishment line of thinking, as it provides easy accusations for pro-aborts.
Focus on the good of human life, and how abortion demonstrates heinous disregard for human well being.

Perhaps a tax would better describe what the OP suggests…

A tax on persons getting abortions would likely be seen as an attempt to frame up a punitive penalty as a tax, and thus would be legally challenged.
