I was watching the Mexican news this evening and heard that abortion is now legal there…how sad:nope:. Seems like these people just didn’t get it:banghead:, sorry I have no links, just heard it on television.

Please try to find some confirmation. Drew Mariani on Relevant radio talked about this last week, said the election was going to be April 24. I’ve joined his listeners in a fast/prayer ritual to Our Lady of Guadalupe in an effort to seek her intercession to keep the vote from passing.

Here’s an article I just came across mentioning the vote set to take place next week:

I may have misunderstood what was said:o , maybe they said it looked like it was going to pass. I was surfing through the channels and left it there when I heard the topic.

I’ll keep praying about it and everyone else too, please!

The vote is tomorrow I believe. Everyone, please keep praying and fasting.

It passed :crying: :crying: :crying:

MEXICO CITY (Reuters) - The Mexican capital legalized abortion on Tuesday, defying the church but delighting feminists in the world’s second-largest Roman Catholic country.
Mexico City lawmakers voted 46 to 19 to pass a leftist-sponsored bill allowing women to abort in the first three months of pregnancy…

The apparition site of Our Lady of Guadelupe, patroness of the unborn, is located on the outskirts to Mexico City. 😦

This is a direct spit in Our Lady’s eye from Satan himself.

I was shocked to learn about the legalization of abortion in Mexico.

As a Filipino Catholic, who has long admired the steadfast faith of the Mexicans, I feel very sad for them. More so, since I found out that majority of Mexicans opposed it.

How a law can be passed by people in power without taking into account the sentiments of its people?

See:

The article said:
Opinion polls show people in Mexico City divided over abortion, but nationally seven in 10 are opposed to it. Around 90% of Mexicans say they are Catholic.
Yet…

The article said:
The abortion law passed easily in the capital’s leftist-controlled assembly on Tuesday,
It makes me think hard about who I should vote for in the coming elections in my own country. I will make sure that the stance of the lawmakers I will give my vote to will be on the side of Pro-life. It seems that there are fewer and fewer countries against abortion nowadays. I am glad, so far, my country, the Philippines, has remained loyal to the position of the Church as far as abortion is concerned.

I live in Manila, where the current Mayor, a devout Catholic, is one of the main promoters of Pro-life. During his stint, he forbade the use of public funds to promote artificial contraception in our city. Many opposed him on this but he stood firm, compared to other mayors in other cities in my country. I am very proud of this mayor and am sad that he will have to step down because he is on his last term in office.

One lesson I learned from this story about Mexico, is to really get to know the people who we give our votes to.

I will pray to Our Lady of Guadalupe (who is much loved by Filipinos also) to help Mexicans fight for the rights of the unborn.

This is really sad news. 😦
