Was there a state where the mother was open to prosecution?
Sorry to cause confusion. No, women were never prosecuted. They prosecuted the doctors and their staff and sent them to jail for ten or fifteen years. The doctors were probably not good doctors as they would not have wanted their reputation ruined as there was a great social stigma against abortion. I’ve heard talk and seen articles that say most of our current abortionists are simply bad doctors who can’t make a living otherwise but today they are accepted.

No, it was never that way. Abortion was legal until the latter part of the 19th century.
I don’t believe and can’t imagine that is true. It was the Victorian age and before that a more of a Puritan age and that is why birth control was not allowed until 1930 by any Christian Church.
There are over 200,000 new cases yearly and 40,000 woman yearly die from breast cancer
That is simply fact. That is a lot of sickness not just death. The causes are disputed but many feel there is a relationship between cancer and abortion and the pills(hormones).

I grew up when there was “no abortion”. I didn’t know the word. None of my friends ever mentioned it.

Okay. So, after reading everything you have written, I have to assume that you have never voted for anyone who has won an election. 😛
Not true, I’ve experienced false victories.
I have already said that I respect your choice to throw away your votes on people who have no chance of being elected. Please respect my choice to be a practical voter, who examines each candidate and makes the best choice after much prayer and discernment.
And I respect your right to put your political goals ahead of God. And that is really what we are saying. You don’t ‘discard’ your vote, but what do you accomplish? You elect Republicans, but achieve no progress on what you supposedly base your decision on.

No progress, accepting evil means, but you aren’t ‘wasting’ your vote. Presumably that speaks to your priorities.

What is a false victory?

I have never, ever put my political goals ahead of God, and I find that charge very offensive.
