YES!Is the Church’s teaching on abortion infallible?
Papal ex cathedra definitions and the solemnly defined dogmas of Ecumenical Councils are protected by Holy Spirit from being in error, but they are not in the same category as divinely inspired writings. Scripture IS divinely inspired writing, and it teaches with a level of certainty that is GREATER than that of the Magisterium’s solemnly defined dogmas.** You shall not kill.
Ex 20:13**
**Catechism of the Catholic Church
2258** “Human life is sacred because from its beginning it involves the creative action of God and it remains for ever in a special relationship with the Creator, who is its sole end. God alone is the Lord of life from its beginning until its end: no one can under any circumstance claim for himself the right directly to destroy an innocent human being.” [56]
