Abortion wasn't always taboo in America

My research indicates that while it wasn’t always illegal, it was taboo indeed and a social nono.

For thousands of years, physicians took the Hippocratic Oath prohibiting abortion. Induced abortion was always considered a grave evil until recent times. There has always been a demand for abortions and those willing to perform it, but the movement to legitimize abortion and euthanasia is a modern evil.

I’d imagine it would have been less taboo when embryology was in its infancy and the “its just a clump of cells” arguement was more persuasive.

We don’t judge murder or other sins based on whether they were “always taboo” or not, so who cares.

Prostitution, rape, and whites-only establishments, in addition to slavery, weren’t “always taboo” in USA either.
