Does the punishment reflect the magnitude of the sin is the question, right? depends on how you look at it. The punishment for unconfessed contraception is eternal death without the eucharist. The punishment for unconfessed abortion is eternal death outside the church.

😉 Will it matter if you are inside or outside the church if there is no salvation for you.😉

Great Apologetics question, don’t you think?
Rephase the question…

😉 Will it matter, if the ultimate punishment is to suffer eternal damnation for the either unconfessed sin.😉

This argument assumes that you are going to have sex at the same frequency whether you are using contraception or not. I, on the other hand, believe contraception leads to increased sexual activity, and thus leads to more STDs and more abortions.
You may be right, in the sense that the easy availability of contraception reinforces the notion that sex is just a pleasurable activity that can and should be separated from reproduction.

Which leads us ALL to treat each other as expendable objects. Men no longer feel it is their duty to stay with the women they impregnate, because women should be on the pill. Children are a hinderance rather than blessings. It just flows out like ripple from a pebble thrown in a pond.

Jennifer, I think what you said only scratches the surface.

Go check my thread, "I’ve been thinking… abortion isn’t the problem.

You are right - it only just scratches the surface. But abortion is such a grave evil, moreso than contraception I think, in that the blood of these innocents cries to the Lord, with their mangled and torn little bodies, it’s just an atrocious thing to have happen in our so-called civilized world.

It’s simple. People who believe in contraception believe they deserve a second chance if it doesn’t work. So first they will say contraception is fine because it prevents abortion, if it fails, then they will say abortion is fine because contraception didn’t work.
