Adoration is the same whether Jesus is in the tabernacle or exposed.
People generally prefer when He is exposed so they can see Him, but you get the exact same spiritual benefit either way, and also the same indulgence either way.
I grew up in a time and place where Eucharistic adoration with an exposed Host was relatively rare and usually only done at certain times like Holy Thursday and during 40 Hours Devotions. But we were encouraged to often make visits to the church as we were passing it - in those days it was unlocked all day - and adore Jesus in the tabernacle.
And I will be honest, since Jesus is hidden already in the appearance of bread, it doesn’t much matter to me if He’s additionally hidden behind a tabernacle door.
With respect to people who have no tabernacle, that seems a little odd to me, but perhaps the priest could arrange an Adoration time before or after Mass and then carry away the Eucharist. On other days people could make an act of Spiritual Communion.
