Is it true the best picture is about someone who committed bestiality?

[NO, not Harvey Weinstein.]

No. Unless you consider a humanoid sentient creature a mere animal.

The main character had non-graphic (though you do see rear nudity) implied sex with the Creature from the Black Lagoon.

Get real, it’s just the 2,874th science fiction story about some misfit who falls in love with an alien.
I see it’s trendy to have “evil Russians” in movies again.
Since the thing ate a cat, I’m kinda sorry it escapes in the end apparently…not going to actually throw down money to watch this romanticized drivel.

Speaking of Academy Awards, Gary Oldman won best actor for his portrayal of Winston Churchill. in the movie ‘Darkest Hour’. Has anyone seen the movie? I love history and was always fascinated by Sir Winston Churchill.🦋🦋

No, I haven’t seen it yet. I’m looking forward to that, though I think it was a mistake to write in the fictional episode set in the London Underground. That kind of thing always weakens a story that claims to be historical.

The best screen Churchill I’ve ever seen is Brendan Gleeson in “Into the Storm”:

Into the Storm was great and Brendan Gleeson made it so. I haven’t seen Darkest Hour yet, I should have said that, but looking forward to it.

Yes, I agree that it was Gleeson’s performance that made the movie, but he was helped by a very strong supporting cast, particularly Janet McTeer as Clemmie and Iain Glen as the King.

Agreed about ‘Into the Storm’, Did you see ’ The Gathering Storm ’ with Albert Finney and Vanessa Redgrave?

Yes, that was very good, too, but Into the Storm is still my personal preference.

I think ‘The Gathering Storm’ was meant to show the personal side of him, his love for Clemmie and family.

I have not, but I would love to see that movie.
I am also considering seeing the movie on the Entebbe raid, if it doesn’t take huge liberties with history, as I actually remember the Entebbe raid.

The Entebbe operation was commanded by Jonathan Netanyahu, whose younger brother is still with us …

Okay, I have to reserve judgment on that, because I haven’t watched the movie yet. But in my experience, the simple awareness that you’re being shown a fictional episode tends to undermine the purpose of a historical or biographical picture.

No, it’s just a fantasy about a shy woman who has sex with a sentient alien. It’s nothing new if you read science fiction. I’ve seen some people refer to it as Nell (the Jodie Foster movie) has sex with The Creature From the Black Lagoon.
I don’t plan on seeing it myself.
