Jesus was preaching
so why ask us to read the Gospel if it is not actually existing in some form, and if it is corrupt?
bingo. Very Catholic. Jesus preached the good news, not a book descending from Allah via Jibreel…there was no book with Jesus or the disciples. You are talking about the Gospel preached in the Churches established by the apostles in the first century in different countries. Did you check the belief of these different churches of the first century or the quotations they used to see if what they taught and believed in is what we have in the NT and OT and what we believe in now? i doubt it, otherwise you wouldn’t have brought up an argument that might only affect some Protestants but not Catholics ( authorship of the gospels).
i did not ask about what you believe in regarding the NT but about your definitiin of “proof” if you already do not believe God preserves His words.
Mormons can say the same …it is not something you must put a smile after Amy, because is a conclusion based on mistrusting God’s words revealed thousands of years by dozens of prophets before one man claimed otherwise. If it agrees with Islam it goes under the “yes” category, if the Qur’an absolutely rejects it, it goes under “no,” and if it is neither then I classify it as “maybe, maybe not.”
how can you trust a deity who does not care about truth and hence alllows humans to corrupt His words yet allow them to say His words are preserved? do you trust Him because He said so in the Quran? what if we apply your theory to Islam? Allah allows Muhammad to say He preserves His words but at the same time allows Muslims to corrupt it? or it is applicable only to OT and NT?I trust God, I trust Him and I pray to Him, and I seek guidance from Him.
The Qur’an is the proof.Sister Amy;3972408 said:i did not ask about what you believe in regarding the NT but about your definitiin of “proof” if you already do not believe God preserves His words.
I’m just in a good mood, you want to spoil it?Mormons can say the same …it is not something you must put a smile after Amy, because is a conclusion based on mistrusting God’s words revealed thousands of years by dozens of prophets before one man claimed otherwise.
I never said God doesn’t care about truth.how can you trust a deity who does not care about truth and hence alllows humans to corrupt His words yet allow them to say His words are preserved? do you trust Him because He said so in the Quran? what if we apply your theory to Islam? Allah allows Muhammad to say He preserves His words but at the same time allows Muslims to corrupt it? or it is applicable only to OT and NT?
You said that.
I asked you: do you believe in free will?
I wish you had studied logic! Such an absurd and irrelevant argument indeed. Free will is all about being an individual. God’s revelations have nothing to do with that notion. God reveals His word so that all people know the truth and not be led astray through false teachings and lies. Alleged corruption of certain texts would mislead all people believing in them as well as permanently hinder them from reaching the divine truth.Do you believe in free will?
LOL! The Koran cannot be the proof because it was written centuries later than the Bible. Amy, you are the joy of this forum. The Qur’an is the proof.
Denying your statements or resorting to lies? Oh my! You really ARE in the (Islamic) mood tonight .I never said God doesn’t care about truth.
You said that.
I asked you: do you believe in free will?
. So when I talk about the Gospel this is what I mean–what Jesus was preaching. Not some mystical book that’s disappeared off the face of the planet, but what Jesus was preaching. Simple enough.
and it is correct. No book was given to Jesus or by Jesus.
But you said was the Gospel preached in “churches.” Did Jesus ever enter a church? Was he preaching in “churches?”
we do not believe in the Quran. we believe in what God revealed. What proof do yu want from us about what WE believe in if you do not believe God preserves His words?
If an atheist claims that if God exists, He does not preserve His words? is there a proof you can give him if he rejects the initial premise? no…this is your case because you do not believe in the first premise so what do you expect us to give you as a proof if you alread reject the premise that God is serious about His words?
is giving a totallly related argument something that spoils your mood? am answering your argument to tell you that ANYONE can claim your claim…ANYONE who , like you, does not believe God is serious about His words and the result is? Quran and Book of Mormons…am sure later we’ll get another book on the list because the first premise leads to all this.I’m just in a good mood, you want to spoil it?
I never said God doesn’t care about truth.you always deny it yet contradict yourself. A deity allowing the corription of His words is NOT a serious deity. A deity who does not care about previous revelations of dozens of prophets and wakes up only with one allegedly prophet is NOT a serious deity.A deity who not only allows corruption but even allows the insertion of “you words stand forever” is a deceitful deity. You said that.
my free-will has nothing to do with the CHARACTER of the deity your are preaching. If am not a serious person about God\s words, it does not mean God is not serious about His words.I asked you: do you believe in free will?

no , you tell me. Why would Allah ask Christians to observe the Injeel if :
-no book was with them.
- it was corrupt?
if i misunderstood, i apologize but this leads us to the next point : if the Jews as well corrupted the OT textually as Muslims claim, why did not Jesus, or the apostles or the church fathers say the same? we’d be the first ones to happily boast about it and desperately claim that Jews ommitted all the passages having Jesus’ name for example…pretty childish right? no, Jesus does not teach that God’s words are corrupt but teaches exactly the opposite and we do not need to mistrust the OT to prove who Jesus is…on the contrary, we use it as a proof…the same does not apply to Muslims because they cannot prove Muhammad’s legitimacy UNLESS they mistrust in previous revelations. So whereas God preserved His words for us to see and believe and hence billions are believers in both OT and NT, Allah on the other hand allowed the corruption of both yet asks us to believe in Muhammad. Totally different . Our belief in God is consistent with His message and Holiness.Did I ever mention textual corruption? Did I? I mean in this thread of course… I don’t think I did…![]()

As will we all…It doesn’t matter what Muslims think or feel about Christ. It doesn’t matter to me what they say about Christ, they will be judged in the end.
Why you muslims always give up rationality?what proof?Quran is a book full of scientific and historical blunder.Quran taught that ujayer(ezra)is son of God of jewish people.tell me when jewish ppl believe in “son of God”?and i don’t want to repeat about the trinity conception of quran,or contradictory verses or mathematical errors again.Quran is such a book that can’t prove anything. The Qur’an is the proof.
