Educated in Roman Catholic schools in Philadelphia, Boyle would spend three years in a monastery before abandoning his studies there. He later described the experience as similar to “living in the Middle Ages.”
I wonder if he left the faith completely because of the pull of the world and the flesh? He explained his decision to leave in 1991: “I felt the call for awhile; then I felt the normal pull of the world and the flesh.”
Did he leave the faith or just the Christian Brothers? I have seen nothing to indicate he left the Church - though I have seen nothing to indicate he was Catholic at his death, either. That being the case, I assume he died Catholic.I wonder if he left the faith completely because of the pull of the world and the flesh?
I’ve never seen Everybody Loves Raymond but I loved Peter Boyle as the monster in Young Frankenstein – if you haven’t seen it,rent it.CBS News is reporting that actor Peter Boyle who played the crabby father of Ray Romano on the CBS comedy “Everbody Loves Raymond,” died last night in New York
