Actor Stephen Baldwin might be more at home on a movie set, but these days – and nights – the veteran of more than 60 films can be found on Route 59 in Nyack, New York, trying to shut down a business that shows movies – pornographic movies.

Baldwin, the youngest of the acting clan that includes older brothers Alec, Billy and Daniel, has planted himself on the sidewalk outside a new adult entertainment business located about one mile from his home and is photographing workers and their vehicles as they prepare the store for opening.

I don’t know how he stands on all issues, but Stephen is a born-again Christian and supported GW Bush in the last election. My understanding is that he converted after 9/11.

I don’t doubt his faith (I have heard him speak on TV).The part about “Christians using him” seems true. My mom who is not Catholic (I’m a convert) watches TBN. They have, over the past couple years, had a constant parade of ex-stars shouting about their faith. They hold them up as a way to justify (legitamize) their brand of Christianity. They hold them up as examples, almost hero like. I feel sorry for them.

Speaking of using people, how long after Kim Basinger won her Oscar did Alec wait to dump her?

At any rate, i think Stephen Baldwin definitely needs our prayers because without family support, with the lure of Hollywood, and potential exploitation from his fellow Christians, he will need them to stay on the right path. Who knows? Maybe he’ll even end up Catholic.

He certainly is right about pornography, and I applaud his courage.
