Need help defending this passage “…does not live in shrines made by a man” How do we as Catholic defend Jesus in the Tabernacle.

Care to take a stab at it? If someone challenged you directly with that verse, would you immediately think that the Catholic Church keeps Jesus in “shrines made by a man?”
 
At this time, Paul was addressing people who worshipped pagans. In their religion, the gods lived in those statues/shrines. In idol temples, the preists often bring food and other necessities to their gods.

Jesus does not “live” in the tabernacle - He is there, and He is everywhere. He also gave us Himself through the Eucharist in a different (no flesh, sacramental) way, so wherever the Eucharist is, He is there.
