As with other sins, a good Sacramental Confession and attempt to amend his life is all that is needed to be forgiven.

receive the Sacrament of Reconcilliation with a contrite heart and confess those sins, and the sins are forgiven. God’s mercy is always there, we just have to ask for it and accept it.

I’m sure almost all of us would say the same things in regards to our sins. Changing bad habits is very hard. That said, the grace we receive from frequent reception of the sacraments and many prayers can help us.

I’m not sure you mean by this. Do you mean it is hard for a person to overcome homosexual attraction? The Church fully admits this; moreover, such attraction is not in and of itself sinful.
Do you mean that it is hard to stop giving in to such attraction? Again, the Church would, I think, admit this as well. The lure of sin is great, and many of us give in again and again often to the same temptations.
All sins, even repeated sins, can be forgiven. But only IF a person is truly contrite about his or her sins. You can’t just show up to confession, get blessed with the full knowledge and intention to sin again (in this case, to perform homosexual acts), and walk away absolved.

Some people have drinking problems, which for some is extremely hard to leave behind.
God is always there to forgive and help.
Think of it like priests who in order to imitate Jesus promise to be chaste. Some fail, God always sees a true heart and will forgive the repentant.
Acts of homosexuality can be forgiven, and people are always called to turn to God for forgiveness and help.

Yes it is. So are most other sins that we commit hard to change. Someone who has an active sexual heterosexual lifestyle outside of wedlock would also probably find it hard to change in many if not most cases as would alcoholics, narcotics abusers, child molesters petty thieves etc. The sin is not being Homosexual, the sin is engaging in homosexual acts. .**Two totally different things **Many see an apparent inconsistency in that.
I don’t.
A homosexual staying celibate is the same thing as a heterosexual staying celibate and requires the same determination and sense of committment. There is absolutely no difference.
As far as something being hard, St Bernadette lived the last years of her life in torment and physical agony, yet according to all accounts she accepted her conditions and illnesses as her cross and bore them bravely, heroically even. I doubt it was very easy for her to do and she probably found it very difficult as well.

all sins can be forgiven. Conversion from any sinful habit is hard, and is impossible without God’s grace. With God, all things are possible, even conversion from long-standing sinful habits.

Jesus will forgive ALL sins except those committed against the Holy Spirit, which will not be forgiven in this world or the next.
