As an adult convert to the Catholic Faith, i was a little ‘green’ when it came to chosing a Confirmation Name. I chose Marie (for MarieMagdalen), and at the time i couldn’t think of anything else. I now realise that the Holy Spirit was (as always) guiding me in my choice, for reasons that became apparent much later on.
However, that was 30 years ago now, and over time i have found i have a particular affiliation with other Saints. I’m sure i’m not alone in this, but i would like to know if i can validly add the names of these other Saints to my original Confirmation Name?
Thank you and God Bless.

there is no issue of “validity”. The choice of a new name at Confirmation is entirely optional, does not figure in the rite (unless you choose to have the bishop use that name), and other than being entered in the Confirmation record of the parish, does not appear anywhere else. that record of course may not be changed or amended (unless you underwent a legal name change in a civil court, where the new name would be annotated on the baptismal record and cross-referenced). You may cherish a devotion to any saint you wish, they are not in competition, and there is no limit. Ordinarily your confirmation name is your baptismal name, unless you choose to add the name of a saint for whom you have a devotion.
