Is it morally ok to use nfp to avoid pregnancy to instead adopt?

this question is to answer the question of a group of friends.

As I understand it, I don’t think so. To adopt a child in need of a home is a wonderful thing, and NFP is being used instead of contraception. Though I would say that the motives for this choice are important - if it is for selfish motives then this is something that needs to be addressed.

I just want to clarify for the woman below me, charting is a very effective form of birth control, when used properly it is AS EFFECTIVE AS THE BIRTH CONTROL PILL. Yes it takes practice, and more work, but it is a much healthier way to avoid pregnancy. And yes it actually is a birth control method, it’s called FAM (fertility awareness method). Charting is as much for avoiding pregnancy as it is for achieving pregnancy!
