My parish decided to have monthly adoration to celebrate the Year of the Eucharist. I have volunteered to help. The first month that we did it was February and we had twenty hours from noon on Tuesday Feb. 8 until 9 am on Ash Wednesday.
We are getting ready to do it again and the Parish administrator spoke to me today about “getting together” to discuss it. He says that he thought 20 hours was good for the beginning of Lent but he indicated that he thought it might be too much for every month. The problem he hinted at was that I ended up keeping vigil for 3 hours because no one had signed up from 11 pm to 2 am. I am supposed to meet with him this week to decide what we will do.
I can tell him that I loved spending three hours with the Lord. That I was never alone, and in fact, there was at least one other merely human being there all the time except for about 20 minutes. People came in the middle of the night but maybe they didn’t want to committ to it.
I definitely want to keep the 20 hours every month. Any suggestions to help me prepare my case?
