My son took me to see Adrift today for Fathers Day…

Great movie I thought…no monsters, explosions, space ship or super hero and villains…

Great cinematography and the story is engaging…very moving…and it is a true story.

Worth seeing in my opinion…

i had contemplated seeing it. you are the first person i have heard from who saw the movie. glad tou liked it. the trailer was good. i have a free movie ticket.
the reviews on Gotti are not good.
was the movie Adrift slow, or did it keep your attention?

It is well paced but not a fast moving show…which is a nice change since most movies are frenetic in their storytelling anymore…

It does take it’s time in telling the story and uses flashbacks which aids in moving it along at an enjoyable pace. It is not overly long or melodramatic, again a welcome change from modern day storytellers.
The actors are unknown to me, but did a great job…no big name stars hamming up in an Oscar bid…

I don’t know, it may be me getting older but I really appreciated it…the lead female actress was very believable and she made the role very relatable.

Of course I used to dream off setting off on a sailboat for many years, so I was more vested in the material…

I am happy I went and supported the movie, I wish we could have more like it…not constant barrage of sex and violence and seizure inducing flashing lights along with over the top CG…

I am not saying it is the best movie I have every seen, but it was an enjoyable way to spend a couple hours verses boiling alive outside…I told my son it reminded me of years ago when you could go to a movie just for the sake of seeing a decent story on the screen inn the summer…

In fact I may buy the e-book to read the whole story as it is suppose to be a bit more informative as to what really happened…it took place in the 1980’s

Also, I admit it…I teared up at the end…

okay. thanks for the info. i agree about having more movies that don’t have vulgar language, sex and violence. if i have time this week, i might go see it.

Three was minimal language and only a very very brief scene of almost nudity…it would be able to be shown on tv by todays standards

Cheers,

M
