FIRST WEEK
God Almighty, increase our strength of will that we may, throughout our lives, perform all the good works and attain to the high level of heroic virtue required of us as obedient servants to Your Son, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We eagerly await His coming during this season of Advent. Through Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You in the unity of Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.
SECOND WEEK
God Almighty, remove all those internal and external things that may hinder us from receiving Christ with joy in order that we may share in His wisdom and become one with Him when he comes in glory. Through Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You in the unity of Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.
THIRD WEEK
God Almighty, may we, Your children, who look forward to the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, experience ever greater feelings of thanksgiving for Your great glory, as we wait with joyful hope for His coming on Christmas morning. Through Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You in the unity of Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.
FOURTH WEEK
God Almighty, at the Annunciation, Your mighty angel greeted the Blessed Virgin Mary thusly: “Hail Mary!” The world was not yet saved, then, at the giving of her consent, Your Eternal Word was made flesh. By the Power of the Holy Spirit, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was incarnate. Nine months later, she painlessly gave birth and placed the Christ Child in a feeding troth, that He would become known as the bread of life. The Blessed Virgin’s obedience led to the saving of countless souls, and she is rightly our model of obedience to You. Our hearts leap with joy at the coming of our savior, and we ask that You lift our minds in watchful hope, that we may hear the voice which announces His glory. Let us receive the Holy Spirit who prepares us for all trials still to come. Through Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You in the unity of Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.
