Does CAF have any control over which advertisers may place ads on these pages?

Just wondering because I recently got an ad promoting something very un-catholic.

You can report inappropriate ads to the moderator if you see one.

Message the moderator at @camoderator and describe the problem.

Occasionally there have been some immoral ads on the site. I can only guess that, assuming the person seeing the ad wasn’t looking at any immoral websites recently, the ad algorithm is seeing some words we use in moral discussions, such as when we talk about sexual sins or contraception, and is using that to pick some bad ads.

If you just want to opt out of those particular ads, look for the tiny X in the upper right corner of the ad. I guess not all ads have them. If you see it, click on the X and choose one of the two options. “Stop seeing this ad” is quick, but “Why this ad?” takes you to an informative and useful web page where you can inspect and modify your ad settings with AdChoices and the Google ad service. Good luck!

Thanks. The ad only came once and so far I haven’t seen it again. But if it does come back I will do this, and also screenshot it as evidence.

Thanks to all those who offered their advice.
