From what I’ve read, Carl Koch is not a historian, but a professor of education, human development, and English at Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota Graduate School.
A better book that I have read is;
“Triumph: The Power and the Glory of the Catholic Church: A 2,000-Year History” by H. W. Crocker III
The author puts together a detailed account of the history of the Catholic Church, but in an interesting and enjoyable format. I couldn’t put the book down, once I started reading it.
