That situation was just the catalyst that got me thinking about how people my age tend to be treated when they publicly oppose same-sex so called “marriage”
Sounds like your the cause of your own misery. You and your friends have differing beliefs, why not just agree to disagree. Here is an example, I strongly believe that the only difference between conservatives and liberals are their respective biases but many of my friends are deeply involved in politics so when politics come up I may give my brief opinion and then excuse myself from the conversations. I have nothing against their beliefs but I do think they are misguided. In the same way I believe much of the controversy over marriage is misguided.

Ignore it. Don’t engage. If they press you just tell them the truth.

I don’t understand your dilemma. What is that you have to accept about your friend’s friend? If your friend is trying to get you to be more than courteous to him then part ways with your friend. Nothing further needs to be said.
They talk about Christians as “hate-filled”, but they loathe YOU if you demur from the radical homosexual agenda. God forbid if you say that homosexuals should NEVER have the opportunity to adopt as long as there is one qualified hetero couple. The left is always filled with hate, and they have instilled confusion and rage among even well-adjusted young people.

But what percent of the recent news falls into the LGBT category?
Can’t answer that exactly. But a whole lot more than 1.7%. And I believe it’s going to get worse. I heard a school is changing signature forms from mother and father to Parent 1 and Parent 2. And it sure seems odd that we would change the definition of marriage for 98.3% of the population to accommodate the 1.7%.

God Bless You
