Two Million Celebrate Uganda Martyrs Killed for Spurning Sodomite King

In Uganda the 1880s teenage boys, showing immense courage and faith were brutally martyred. Their shrine is now the great Catholic shrine of Africa–millions of people came there on their feast day on June 3, 2018. According to some estimates 4 million came.
Uganda is a country in east Africa.

One of the Sisters who worked at a school in Tanzania that I am involved with was transferred by her order to the convent adjacent to this Shrine. She finds in very spiritually fulling to be near such a holy place and often prays there.

Yes in 1885-1887 missionaries were martyred by the then king of Buganda, including St Charles Lwanga and some of the king’s young boy slaves who converted. The first martyrs in sub-Saharan Africa.
