Good to see that the falsehoods that some have created out of the V:II council are finally beginning to dissipate. His Holiness has been fantastic in this regard.

The correct term is Extraordinary Form of the Mass.

And don’t diss the Second Vatican Council.

How and where was the Second Vatican Council dissed? I must have missed that one.

Pointing out that some have twisted what was said at that Council to suit their own agendas is not dissing the Council, as you say.

If you were reffering to my post Eucharisted, ill elaborate that what i meant was that im glad that the heterodox teachings that some people have sought to introduce to the church in the “spirit of V:II” are finally being dealt with and that historical and catholic teachings are reasserting themselves. I took the restoration of the Extraordinary form at St Peters Basilica as a emblematic of this revival and restoration and thus made my post. Theres nothing wrong with the council as long as unwarranted interpretations and innovations are not introduced which unfortunatley, some errants have done. (Im quite familiar with St Mary’s parish in Brisbane Australia, its not good.)

I admit my comment was made without appropriate context, which left it wide open to misinterpretation. Doubly so considered the stated nature of the thread which had no context for refference to heterodox teachings.

Does anyone else see the Scriptural significance of this time frame?

The forty years wandering in the desert of the Israelites, and the forty days jesus spent in the desert being tempted by Satan. These are the correlations i assume you see.

Solemn pontifical in St. Peter’s (Outrigger)
Here are our photos of the sublime to the solemn pontifical Faldstool this morning nell’Arcibasilica of St. Peter.

The Archbishop Burke, Bishop Schneider, Mgr. Well, Msgr. Ferrer, representing the card. Canozares absent from Rome, a hundred or more priests (diocesan and the various institutions related to tradition), the Franciscan Friars of the Immaculate Conception and a host of heavenly and young Franciscan Sisters of the Immaculate have made this great unforgettable day: the Mass of the times apostolic returns home after 40 years of exile in the desert.

To tell the truth, rather than a return, however, is still a glimpse of the Promised Land from the summit of Mount Nebo, where it is judged disembarked from the cobblestones and by the staff of the basilica. Nothing we say about the anticipation of the organization reported only half an hour yesterday, for reasons beyond any rational and benevolent understanding. But much more serious than the events in which your reporters are direct witnesses. Some of us entered the basilica in advance and asked where was the Tridentine Mass, the son was told that there was none, and they repaired the altar of the chair where we would have been the usual mass ordinary. Only by insisting, and annoyance, were referred to the Chapel of SS. Sacramento where it was then carried out.

The undersigned, having arrived at exactly 9.28, we found a barrier to twenty meters from the chapel, with no fewer than twelve of cobblestones and policemen, who all repeated treatments of "private ceremony for a group and as such inaccessible. Only with an altercation, accompanied by the threat of being expelled from the temple, it was possible to approach. Two ladies with a veil on his head so much has been said that the establishment was trying to 10 the altar of the Chair (when you played the ordinary proceedings), and they surrendered.

Who says it is still able to enter the chapel overflowing because: he had formed a group outside, in the no man’s land between the cordon of security and access to the chapel, guarded by (no joke): 2 policemen, 3 cobblestones and 1 policeman in plain clothes. Little to no access to 4 meters wide. Not content, they also pulled a good part tents, to prevent the sublime beauty of the ritual drew the people. Throughout the Mass the people they approached were sent inexorably away, but someone has been watching the Mass as a distant mirage.

Too bad for those who was out, the notes of Mass Orbis Factor songs were covered by a chanteuse gniaulante that animated the Mass Ordinary Chair.

But not to dwell on these negative aspects. The party was great, as said the chapel overflowing, and only makes some difficulty, after all, more determined and steadfast in the Faith.

Thanks for the clarification, sorry for accusing you of meanspiritedness.

No problem.

It was my fault in the first place for not giving adequate clarification.

I read a few day’s ago that His holiness instituted a review of the meaning of Vatican II in regards to our Sacred Liturgy, effective 10/16/2009:thumbsup:

The International Director of the Marian Catechesit Apostolate of which I am a member, his Excellency, Archbishop Raymond L. Burke, Emeritus of Saint Louis, and Prefect of the Supreme Tribunal of the Apostolic Signatura [comparable to our Supreme Court] has just been appointed to the Vaticans ***“Congregation for Bishops” ***[and will have great influence on selection of furture Bishops:thumbsup:]. His Excellency also said recently the first Latin mass at the Bacila of Saint Peters in Rome:thumbsup:

Wow:D God is Good! Amen!

Love and prayers,

Pat

It just keeps getting better.

It is most excellent that a revival of traditional values is underway to correct the errors of errants who sought to take the council out of its appropriate interpretation.

:D:D:D

I talked to a wonderful lady today who discuss with me the beauty of the Latin Mass and her passionate love for it. She was telling me how all these “new age” groups are destroying the Church, or trying to change Doctrine. Which I believe is true. However we must remember Jesus’ own words, the Gates of Hell will no prevail against thee. God Bless

Indeed Christ did, BUT what friend does this mean?

Jesus was speaking about “His Church” which we know today as the Caholic “Universal”] Church, correct?

But Christ gives NO ASSURANCES of individual Churches. Look at Euorpe, Italy, Spain, France, or Canada [only 10% of self professed Catholics actually practice there faith] and here in America, where 77% of self professed Catholics do NOT practice our Faith and only 10% go to Confession even once per year!

God gives no guarentee for individual Church’s. So pray, then pray some more. Live you’re catholic faith like a lamp on a hillside for all to see.👍

May God have Mercy on us, and lead us back to Him!

Love and prayers,

Pat

Indeed. As the 95th Psalm: "Forty years I endured that generation; I said: “this people’s heart goes astray, they do not know my ways. Therefore, I swore in anger: they shall not enter my rest.”

As a post-V2 Catholic I did not know many of the Church’s ways until I discovered the Latin Mass and our true and rightful culture. These past couple of years have been filled with discovery, confession, penance and hopefully redemption. Jesus said the path would be narrow. Thankfully, I believe I’ve seen the error of my ways and now on the right path towards Him. An increased reverence for the Blessed Sacrament, devotion to our Lady, strong catechesis from FSSP sermons and prayer are my foundations in building up a proper Catholic life.

The quote from Pope Paul VI goes that responding to the windows of the Vatican being opened up by the Second Council he said the smoke of Satan blew in. Indeed we’ve been clouded and tricked by the great deceiver these past forty years. Our current pontiff is doing his best in blowing that smoke back outside - to the desert.

👋 I’m right there with you. :dancing:

I concur. Although the council in itself is not wrong, the way some have interpreted it has led to many years of sorrow and loss for the church. However the winds of change are blowing and it is my hope that a true and correct synthesis of the councils reforms with historical teaching and correct interpretation will result.
